Two major proposed projects
We are currently drawing plans and negotiating for two sites:
one in major crossroad city in Region I
one in suburbs of MM near a mall being built right now.
We concluded that tiangges are events driven and part of tianggesitas planning is having events inserted through out the year.
Partnerships needed are: with tiangges organizers, events organizers, and land owners of idle commercial lots. We need to connect more with tiangge operators

Tiangges are the silicon valley of Filipino entrepreneurs and the name game
The place where you can see the ingenuity, innovation and creativity of Pinoys are in tiangges and bazaars. You will be amazed at the variety of business concepts and models:
Murakami you thought it was Japanese (murakami - we are cheap what a great name)!
You thought it is canon balls (it is Kanin bols)
P10 pa lang!

My observation of malls in Bangkok is that the big ones cater to small tiangges operators
I have seen a large variety of stores in malls in large malls in Bangkok. Most occupy stalls that are very small 2x3 at times. Just like the 168 business model. Plenty of traffic, plenty of sales, and small rentals. Not many rules.
How to tips for a tiangge renter/operator
From Filentrep - Tips on operating a tiangge
Here is a tip on how to run a bazar, or a flea market store or a tiangge. They can set you back by P2t to P7t per day or maybe up to P12t on a week end (2 days and maybe this is a bargain.
Here is the complete excerpt:
Tiangge, flea market or Bazaars can be seen everywhere we go. They sprouted in malls, unused parking lots, churches or side walks. We patronize them because they sell cheaper items compared to supermarkets or malls. Sometimes they became a nuisance to pedestrians and motorist that causes heavy traffic because they occupy most of the side walks. Anyway if are just responsible and follow rules and guidelines like for example setting up in a place with heavy foot traffic but away from sidewalks to avoid causing heavy traffic on motorist and of course punishment from MMDA.
So without much ado, here are some tips that might be helpful to you if you want to venture on selling your commodities in tiangge or bazaars :
Prepare some investment – joining a bazaar to sell your wares requires a little more investment because stall rentals range from 2,500 to 7,000 pesos a day. Other bazaars can set you back 12,000 pesos a weekend. But you can get package rates if you sign up all the tiangge dates available. Bazaars in hotels and venues like the Manila Polo Club are usually more expensive, while a church tiangge can be cheaper if it’s open air.
Keep the traffic in mind. - When choosing a booth, try to get one where everybody will be sure to pass. Right near the entrance is the best place, so try to reserve your booth space as early as possible. Make your booth attractive to shoppes by using materials like mirrors and spotlights for sure visibility. For more display space, get a wall booth.
Save on cost – Sharing a booth with someone else so you can share the rental. Its is also good to man your own booth, because customers like tit when they get to chat with the owner.
Know how low you can go – Haggling is part of the tiangge tradition, so you have to know your cost and up to how much you are willing to compromise the price. Twenty percent of your sale price is a fair discount. As an alternative to giving discounts, you can offer promos, like a special price if the customer gets two items or a small gift that comes with the purchase. Be a little creative.
Mix your merchandise – When thinking of items to sell in your booth, remember that people come to bazaars because they want to see things that they won’t find in malls. Combining consigned items with things that you yourself made so you can easily get your money back.
Think ahead – Be ready with calling cards to give out to customers. That way they can get in touch with you the rest of the year. Who knows, this might be an opportunity for a bigger market like for example export or a supplier of a big company.

Tiangges are good business for malls and municipalities during fiestas
When I became member of a panel that reviewed a strategic plan, I found out that one of the biggest revenue driver are the small stores (tiangges) There is a lot of foot traffic compared to the department stores where goods are expensive and not afforable. Their rates are up to P1,000 per day so their monthly rental amount to P30,000 or more a month.
As for the tiangges in fiestas, there is a lot of traffic because there is a lot of tiangges that block the main street. The tiangges pay as high as P5t per day. Thus it is also a good business for..... since there may be no audit of this business transaction with the munisipio since it is fiesta time anyway

We are currently evaluating 3 tiangge sites
There are 3 tiangge sites that we are currently evaluating. There are two in our townsite, and 1 in Northern city. If the owner agrees to our terms this month, we plan to be operational by December in the north. Because of the Christmas season.
The current rental for a tiangge is about P1,000 per day in air conditioned malls, and for bare outdoors tiangge, about P150.00 to P200.00 per day. This is very affordable and can help a vendor of small items build up his sales, reduce his cost, and be a millionaire wannabee some day
